    RYS Cosmetiques doing business as 4.5.6 is an independent company founded in France at the heart of the French Cosmetic valley in 2018.

    After an incubation at the LVMH Research Centre via the Cosmet’up Program, we established our own lab and production unit in the Cosmetic Valley.

    All our processes of R&D, formulation, production, and filling are performed in our lab.

    Our journey is guided by melanin skin care and we are continuously researching and developing the most innovative skincare solutions for you.

  • Who manufactures 4.5.6?

    Our products are researched, manufactured and customised in our proprietary laboratory located in the heart of the French Cosmetic valley.

  • How does the 4.5.6 customisation process work?

    First you tell us about your skin type, skin concerns and fragrance preference. Our algorithm will then creates the formulas best-suited for you. Your bespoke skincare formulas will be freshly made-to-order, leave our lab and go straight to your door within 5-7 working days from your purchase date. All our products are made with love for your melanin-rich skin and backed with 100% satisfaction guarantee.

  • Why do your products have an expiration date?

    Because our products are made-to-order, we have a recommended 6-month period of use from the date of manufacture. Our advanced conservation system is made to preserve the formula for a 12 month-period but in all transparency, using your formula within 6 month of the purchase period is best to ensure you benefit from the freshness of our high quality active ingredients and get the full performance of your products.

  • How are your products preserved?

    Our advanced natural-based conservation system is made with ingredients that not only preserve the formula but also enhance it. We do not use any harmful or controversial products often used to extend the shelf life of cosmetic products.
    When using our products, please ensure that they are stored correctly, keep them sealed when not in use, and out direct heat and sunlight.

  • Are your products 100% natural or organic or vegan ?

    Our products are made with 90% of natural ingredients. To meet the specific skin needs of phototype 4, 5 and 6, we took our formulation philosophy much further by first keeping in mind the physio-pathological mechanisms of melanin-rich skin, their functional and structural differences to select the right ingredients to align with those differences. We use a combination of natural, organic, vegan, science backed and prejudice free lab-made ingredients to create the most efficient products. We carefully select biodynamic ingredients that are not compromised during their extraction, fabrication or conservation process.

    Melanin-rich skin is very sensitive to aggression and that is why you will never find the below ingredients in our formulas:
    ❌ Drying emulsifiers: such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate DEA/TEA or any emulsifier or texture agent that may be aggressive to melanin-rich skin
    ❌ Plastic powders: such as carbomers, acrylates, polymers, polyethylene or microbeadsMineral oils or any ingredients that may be comedogenic
    ❌ Silicones: such as dimethicone, cyclomethicone, cyclohexasiloxane, cetearyl methicone, cyclopentasiloxane or any other silicone derivatives ending in -cone or -siloxane
    ❌ Suspected endocrine disruptors (parabens, or phenoxyethanol)

  • Are your products cruelty free?

    Absolutely. All our products are animal cruelty free.

  • Most brands use silicone in their formulas, why don’t you?

    Used medically, silicones have been proven to help heal wounds and improve scarring. In skincare they are used for their occlusive properties and also have a unique texture, giving skin care products that slick feel. However, the benefits of silicones are only superficial as yes they might make your face look and feel nice in the moment, but they don’t contribute to the long-term health and improvement of your skin. Silicones can act as a barrier and trap oil, dirt, and dead skin cells, making acne worse or enlarging pores. Silicones will also mess up products layering by blocking  subsequent ingredients from reaching the skin, rendering anything applied after a silicone product useless. Finally Silicones are bioaccumulative meaning that once they’re rinsed down the drain, they contribute to the buildup of sludge pollution in oceans and waterways, and don’t break down for hundreds of years.

  • Do you use fragrance in your products?

    We offer 2 options: with or without fragrance.

    If you choose the fragrance option, please note that our formulas contain hypoallergenic perfumes that have been legally tested and are proven to have no allergens. Although we passed our legal patch test with no irritation at all, which means all our products show optimal tolerance, we understand that some of our customers may have highly sensitive skin and we recommend that they patch test the products on their inner arm for a few days before applying them on their face.

  • Can I use 4.5.6 products with other products?

    Definitely. However, we strongly recommend using only our products for at least one month to see their full benefits with no interference from other products that are formulated differently.

  • When can I expect to start seeing results with my products?

    How fast you see your results will depend on your consistency with your routine. We will never promise miracles (no one should) but with commitment to your routine, you will see the transformation from up to a month.

  • What is your return policy? What are my options if I'm not totally satisfied with my products?

    We stand by our products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee that covers your order within 30 days of the ship date.

    If you're not completely satisfied with your products, let us know and we'll make things right. We offer two options: you can receive adjusted formulas free of charge, or you can return your order for a full refund.

    Please note that we offer formula adjustments as a one-time exchange, and we cannot offer multiple exchanges on the same order. To receive adjusted formulas, contact us at hello@456skin.com. Please provide your order number and feedback about your products. Our team will provide full instructions, along with a prepaid return label so you can send your original products back to us.

    To return your order for a full refund, contact us at hello@456skin.com. Please provide your order number and the reason for your return request. We'll provide a prepaid return label, and we'll be back in touch when your refund has been issued.

  • Can I get samples before I purchase the product?

    Because our formulas are freshly made-to-order and customised to your specific needs, we are unable to offer samples. If you need more information before you step into your new world of skincare, email us at hello@456skin.com and we’ll make sure your formula is the best fit. 

  • Is your packaging eco-friendly?

    Yes, 4.5.6 strives to source products and packaging to be environmentally friendly, sustainable and recyclable. Our glass packaging is endlessly recyclable and provides the best protection for our advanced formulas. When using our products, please ensure that they are stored correctly, keep them sealed when not in use, and out direct heat and sunlight.


  • Where do you ship?

  • How long until I get my order?

    Because our products are made-to-order, they may take longer to ship than manufactured products. Please allow 5-7 working days for your order to reach you. If you have not received your order after 7 working days , please contact us at hello@456skin.com

  • Do you offer a subscription?

    Not at the moment! But we understand that some of our customers would like to have the convenience of automatically receiving their favorites products before they run out. Our team is working to make this feature available to you in the future.

  • What payment methods do you accept?
